Vonceil Pace

July 7, 1936 — May 15, 2014

The life of Vonceil Pace began when she blessed her parents, Adolphus Finley, Sr. and Ida A. Berry Finley with her birth in Tatum, Texas. She was the third of three children born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Lewis and Adolphus, Jr. As a child, she was energetic and happy. She received her formal education in Texas, where she graduated from Pryor Hill High School. She furthered her education by attending Wiley College in Marshall, Texas where she majored in Commerce. In the early 1960's, Vonceil relocated to Denver, Colorado. It was there she met Ned Pace. They were later united in marriage and to this union; Jacqueline, Ned, Jr. and Rodney were born. The family shared many happy and precious moments together. She was later blessed with four grandchildren and one great grandchild, who were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. Vonceil was a hard working woman who worked in several different areas of employment. Wherever working, she performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. Her greatest joy would be found in caring for her family. They will always remember her special smile, caring heart, warm embrace. There will never be anyone who could take her place. Vonceil was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled, in her free time, she enjoyed listening to music, sharing with family and friends, watching "Wheel of Fortune" and "The Young and Restless" on television. She also enjoyed occasional visits to the dog track and Blackhawk but her great joy would found in spending quality time with husband, children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this Queen of a Woman. To know Vonceil was to love her. Vonceil Pace passed peacefully in her home on May 15, 2014, in Denver, Colorado; surrounded by her family. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her loving and devoted husband, Ned Pace, Sr. of Denver; one daughter, Jacqueline Finley of Tatum, TX; two sons, Ned Pace, Jr., of Colorado Springs and Rodney Pace of Denver; her mother, Ida Finley of Tatum, Texas; one brother, Adolphus (Annie Lee) Finely, Jr. of Houston, TX; four grandchildren; one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
