Shilume D. White was born on October 27, 1977, in Denver, Colorado, to his parents, Barbara White and Jimmy Edwards. He was the second child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Jedadiaa, Darrell, and his sisters, Tavanya, Sheila, and Lilah. Growing up, he was extremely close to his mother. He received his formal education by attending Mitchell Elementary School in Denver, Colorado, and he graduated from Thornton High School in Thornton, Colorado.

He was affectionately called "Shi" by family and friends. He was raised in Denver's Eastside projects, where he shared many happy and memorable moments with his family and friends.

By profession, "Shi" was employed with the Denver Public Schools, working as a Food Service Preparer and Server. He was hardworking, dedicated, dependable, and performed his duties with a spirit of excellence.

"Shi" was a fun-loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. He enjoyed listening to "Ol Skool" music, watching television sitcoms, and spending quality time with family and friends in his free time. "Shi" shared special closeness with his niece and nephews, Elijah, Tashantay, and Latrell. His closest friends, Virginia Turner, who cooked and often delivered food to him, as well as Juanita and Tony Ross, and Julie Bannon, will miss all the many comraderies they all shared and the fact that he was a true and

trusted friend.

They will miss his kindness, the many phone conversations, and visits. "Shi" was a man who spoke his mind, who was full of wisdom, who had a kind heart and always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed social gatherings and having a few cocktails.

He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this one of kind guy. To know "Shi" was to love him.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Jedadiaa White.

Shilume D. White departed this life on January 1, 2022, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his parents, Barbara White and Jimmy Edwards; sisters, Tavanya White, Sheila Harris, Lilah Edwards; his brother, Darnell Handwick; his nieces and nephew, Elijah Bannon, Tashantay White, and Latrell White; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
