“GRANNY PAT”

Patricia Ann “Granny Pat” McIntire, was born in Amarillo, Texas on May 2, 1952 to her parents Eva and Ben McIntire. She was the fourth of five born to this union. As a child, Patricia was quite the character. She was known for giving her grandmother a hard time but always ensured to do so in a respectful way. Her siblings recall many of their enjoyable times including, hanging out at “The Flats”, and picking crab apples that they would share with others to put a smile on their faces. Patricia was very responsible, she helped look after her siblings including those who were older than her, because her mother knew that she would ensure that the rules were followed.

Patricia was educated through the Amarillo Independent School District where she graduated from Amarillo High School in 1969. Following high school, Patricia furthered her education and earned her certification as a nursing assistant, she took a position with  Bayaud Healthcare where she cared for those in need. These skills would become very handy through the years. Patricia then met Lawrence E. Miles and to this union of 27 years, Patrick McIntire, Terry McIntire, Shelonda McNeal, Kinyetta McIntire, and Lawrence F. Miles were born. During this time, Patricia would focus on taking care of her children and excelled as a homemaker. As time continued, Patricia and her family moved to Denver, Colorado for a fresh start. She continued to watch her children grow into the amazing women and men of God that they are today.

Patricia always made an effort to gain the most out of life. Aside from her professional career, she volunteered at Seasons of Change, which was a non-profit organization that offered programs designed to create pathways out of poverty.  She emphasized the importance of family time as well, she often held social events to get others together including her friends Cynthia Henderson, Connie Franklin, and Mary Nolan. Patricia enjoyed shopping; it was never a surprise to see her riding around Walmart in a shopping cart pushed by her sister-in-law. Patricia also enjoyed riding around town, sightseeing and sitting on her porch conversing with her neighbors.

Patricia was a woman of faith, she was an active member of Now Faith Christian Center where she volunteered with  several ministries such as the Tea Cup Ministry. Patricia was well recognized for her efforts, she received several certificates for her outstanding display of devotion.

Those who knew her best would describe Patricia was a person who compassionate and willing to assist everyone whether she knew you well or not. Even if she did not have what you needed, she would diligently work to get you the resources necessary.

With her family by her side, Patricia went on to be with her Lord and Savior on July 6, 2021. The world has lost an amazing woman of God, but Heaven has gained an Angel.
