Mary Eleanor Latson passed away on November 5th, 2020 in Missouri City, Texas. Born in Denver, Colorado she was the only daughter of Edgar James  Black and Mary Lea Black. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Metropolitan State University.  She retired as a school teacher in 2011 from Denver Public Schools where she served as a primary educator for 35 years. She was a member of the Shorter  African Methodist Episcopal Church. Mary enjoyed gardening, crafting, walking, shopping, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as kind, loving, caring, humble, creative, loyal, insightful, supportive, proud, and beautiful. She is survived by her children Nathaniel Howard III (Michele Howard), Jodi Latson, and Traci Latson. She is also survived by her five grandchildren Natalie Crump (Sean Crump), Nicole Howard (Marquise Jones), Joshua Latson, Marcellous and Leyla Hassien . She is also survived by her 5 great-grandchildren Kye, Kassidy, London, Trinity, and Casen. Also by her three pets King Solomon, Queen Basheba, and BT.

In lieu of flowers, cards, or bereavement, the family asks that you donate to an educational scholarship. Our beloved mother, Mary Latson was an educator for 35 years, teaching early education. Her passion and desire to educate our youth continued past her retirement from teaching. If you are so inclined, make a donation in memory of Mary Latson.
