Lo Ethel Adams

Mrs. Lo Ethel Adams was born on May 8, 1932 in Henderson Texas to Levi “Bent” and Lucinda Caddell Maddox. She was the oldest child of four born into the family. She grew up in the Baptist church and accepted Christ at an early age.

She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Denver, CO since 1967.

Lo Ethel received her early education in the Rusk County School System of Henderson Texas. She then attended Bishop College in Marshall, Texas where she obtained a bachelor degree in English in 1952.

Lo Ethel moved to Denver, CO in 1954 where she began her career working with children. She worked for Denver Public Schools where she taught elementary and junior high school. She also worked in the Adult Education Program where she helped adults receive their GED.

After working for DPS, she entered the ministry of caregiving. She aided the children of Drs. John and Jan Steiner. She grew to love them as if they were her own family. After retiring, Lo Ethel, went to work as a volunteer in the clothing room for Volunteers of America. She enjoyed volunteering very much.

After her marriage dissolved with her children’s father. She married Clyde Adams in 1971 and they were married until his passing in 1983.

Lo Ethel loved life and always looked at the positive side of things. She left this life on April 11, 2022 to the embrace of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Adams, her brothers, Donald Maddox and Weldon Maddox.

She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Angela Rumph (Frank) of Columbia, SC, Eric Williams of Guam, Michael Williams of Los Angeles, CA  and Reginald Willams of Denver CO; nine grandchildren with one preceding her in death, and six great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Lou Ann Davis of Albuquerque, New Mexico and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
