Leticia Ross

March 8, 1948 — January 8, 2022

Denver, Colorado

The sun rose on the life of Leticia Ross on March 8, 1948 in Denver, Colorado. She was born to her parents Gladys Bernice Butcher and William LeDale Ross, and was fifth child of eight children born to this union. She was raised with her brothers, William Ross Jr., Phillip Ross, Charles Ross and Robert Kemp Jr. and her sisters, Hazel Webb, Jackie Biggers and Karen Kemp.

Leticia matriculated through Denver Public Schools, where she graduated from East High School in 1966. She furthered her education by attending Metropolitan State University, where she earned a BA in Social Work in 1971.

Leticia met a young man by the name of Billie Polk, and the two were joined in holy matrimony. They grew strong together as a couple and took on the everyday life challenges in unity. Unfortunately, Billie passed away in June of 2021.

One of true compassion and dedication, Leticia went on to serve as a Social Worker for more than 30 years, working for the State of Colorado at Fort Logan Mental Hospital. In 1994, Leticia was blessed with the adoption of her loving daughter Kaniesha Ross. She was proud to have Kaniesha in her life, and her growing relationship with Kaniesha helped her find additional meaning in her life.

In her free time, Leticia enjoyed taking her children and grandchildren fishing with Billie, traveling and going to the casino with her husband Billie and mother Gladys
