Commerce City, CO

James Arthur Riley was born on July 27,1964 in Baltimore, Maryland, to his parents, Ella Riley and Francis Riley, and the grandson of Mary Cole and James Riley. He was the middle child with four brothers, Leonard Johnson, Bernard Johnson, Lavern Riley, and Earl Riley.

James was raised in Baltimore, where he received his high school diploma from Patterson High School.   Just after high school, James met Barbara.  They would marry and to this union, three amazing children were born, Victoria Riley, Jessica Riley-Murray, and James Matthew Riley. The marriage was dissolved; however, he loved his children with everything in his heart. The day he became a father was one of the happiest days of his life.

To support his family, James worked multiple jobs at a time including Uno, Taxicab Driver, Pizza Delivery and U-Haul Operative. He did everything he could to make sure there was food on the table and a roof over their heads. In 2003, James and his three children moved to Denver, Colorado in the Montbello subdivision. He found a job delivering cars for an auto auction company, where he found love again and a best friend. After a few years of learning the auction Job, He started his own business as an auction delivery service called, JL Transport.

Along with the many jobs he had, he always found time to enjoy his hobbies of working on cars and putting new technology in them. You could all ways find him under the hood of a car either of his own or helping out a friend. He didn’t like to sit still. He was always tinkering on something.

James was always a family man. He adored his children and was overjoyed when he became a grandfather. He would go to family BBQ's and brag for hours about his grand babies. He loved spending time with his brothers, his mom, and his favorite niece, Keshia, and all his other nieces and nephews.

James touched the hearts of many with his kind soul. He was always a great listener and would never turn a friend or family member in need away. There was just so much love in his life and he made sure to spread it through everyone he met.
