James Orr

July 13, 1972 — August 9, 2022

James Dylan Orr was born on July 13, 1972 in Heerlen, Holland, Netherlands to James & Emma Moore Orr. Six months after James was born, the military informed his family that his father was being relocated to San Antonio, Texas.

Dylan went to pre-school and kindergarten at Lackland Baptist Church, in San Antonio. He then attended Locke Hill Elementary from the first through fifth grade. One of his fondest memories included Spunky (the family dog) waiting with Dylan for the bus to pick him up every morning. His mother recalls when Dylan looked up to her and said that he felt like he had been going to school his entire life. After completing elementary school, Dylan attended Hobby Middle School from sixth to eight grade. He completed nineth through twelfth grade and graduated from Clark High School in 1990. After graduating from Clark Highschool in 1990, in the fall of 1990, he attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas.

Dylan met a young lady named Jennifer Stringer, and on May 18, 2002, they were joined in holy matrimony. To this marriage he gained two sons, James and Tony.

Dylan was a hard worker, he worked for A & K Appliances for 9 years and also worked for Seattle Fish Company. He later worked for Amazon. Dylan at this point in his life, felt that he needed a change; he therefore moved to San Antonio. After living in San Antonio for several months, he decided that he wanted to move back to Denver. Dylan developed health issues around this time and decided that it would be best if he stayed with his mother. On August 9th, Dylan became a victim of Cardiac Arrest; despite a hard fight, the Lord called his angel home. He will be truly missed by those who were blessed to have known him.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, his grandmother, his father, James W. Orr; and his two aunts, Doris and Maxine who passed away a month apart.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Emma M. Orr; his brother, Kevin Hollingsworth; aunts, Doris Hammond, Delilah Adams and Sammiella Mask; his uncle, John Moore-Hammond (Debra) Moore and a host of cousins and friends.

“I’ve missed you a long time”
