Debra Taylor

1962 — January 1, 2021

Denver, CO

Debra Taylor was born in Charleston, W VA on April 20, 1962 to Juanita and Melvin Taylor. She was blessed with the joy of her first child, Adeanis, and moved to Denver, CO to gain the assistance of her mother with the raising her daughter. She was again overjoyed to experience the joy of her son Jermaine; then Nya and Nea were to follow. Debra "Debbie" was family-oriented; definitely not a "loner. She loved people; seldom was there a time that she was not spending time with friends, before her long-term illness and on more than one occasion, they argued, stopped speaking, had their ups and downs over  the many years she had known them. Yet, they always got back together like sisters and brothers. Seldom was she far from Lays Potato Chips, beef jerky, grape soda, but Aunt Charolette's sweet potato was #1. She spiritually feasted on the words of Bishop T.D. Jakes. Debra gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was baptized at the age of 8 yrs.; her faith remained strong regardless of her trials and tribulations; and she remained faithful to God throughout her lifetime. Debra loved church and gospel music. She was a member of Heritage Christian Center. She thrived on challenges, loved people and most of all her children, and grandchildren. She so wanted to be an inspiration to them that she returned to school at the age of 54 and earned an Associate degree in Health and Human Services from Ultimate University, FL in 2018. She was wise, spiritual, funny, loving, giving, definitely resourceful, and almost always had something up her sleeve,  and seemed to rise up just when you thought she was down for the count. Debra was preceded in death by her, father, Melvin Howard Taylor Sr., brother, Melvin Howard Taylor, Jr., and most recently her step-mother, Gertrude Taylor,W VA. She is survived by her mother, Juanita Taylor-Coon, children; Adeanis, Jermaine Taylor, Sr., & Nya Taylor of Denver CO, Nea Taylor of N.Orleans, Sister, Prophetess Tara Taylor- Thompson, step-sisters, Debbie Choice, and Trina Beverly of S. Charleston, W VA. Auntie(s): Charolette Acey-Betts, S. Charleston, W VA, Doris "Ann" Acey-Hsu, Denver, CO., Melody Acey-Bryant, Reno, NV, Cheryl Reed,& Burnette Cash, Pittsburgh, PA. very "close-knitted" cousins, Andrew Letlow Cols., OH & Andrea Letlow, Joel &Amy Acey, Charleston, W VA, Keyanty Hsu, Ty Hsu, Deloris Williams & Alicia Ford, Denver, CO. Grandchildren, Jada & Jermaine Taylor,Jr., Amiracle Taylor-Coon, LaTasha Taylor, Vesha &Leah Gilbert and Jerome Gilbert Jr., and a host of great-grand children. Debra was a step-mother to Rahiem and "Kay Kay" Anderson. We talked on a daily basis: she called me, (Aunt Ann) last month and asked that I call each cousin, (she named each one), and said "tell them I love them". And now I know why. "Cousins; she loved each of you."
