Obituary

Willie Vern Prince was born on September 10, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Otria McDade. He was raised by his grandparents, Harrison and Izora Prince. Willie was the second child of four and even though he was not raised with his siblings, Earl, Greta and Shane he was still close to them.

As a child, Willie loved to hunt, fish and ride horses. If you couldn’t find Willie in the house, you would find him in the woods hunting.

Willie was educated through Oklahoma Public Schools. During his high school years at Pernell High School, he loved playing sports. He excelled in football, basketball, baseball and any other sport that had ball associated with its name. He was also a captain of his football team.

Willie met a lovely young lady named Wanda Fay, who would later become his lovely wife of 40 years. They enjoyed travelling and spending time with their grandchildren. The best part of their marriage was the quality time that was spent together.

Willie had a passion for children; his children and grandchildren undoubtedly enjoyed their time with “Paw Paw”. He was supportive, understanding and always present when they needed him. They were his pride and joy.

Willie was a hard worker that believed in always putting his best foot forward. He worked a long career in the Cable Business Industry. He owned his own business for years. After retiring, he gained a position working for a trucking company where he drove all around the country.

If you visited Willie and you were in a funky mood, it was guaranteed that you would leave with a smile on your face.

Willie is preceded in death by his grandparents, Harrison and Izora Prince; his mother, Otria McDade; stepfather, Wayne McDade; and his son, Willie Clarence Prince

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Wanda Fay Prince; children, Kriste Prince, Shanna Prince, Audra Prince, Kelly Prince and Tracy Sanders. Willie was blessed abundantly to have an abundant legacy of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
