Willie Jean Joseph was born on February 8, 1946 in Ferriday, Louisiana to his parents, Alma and Monroe Joseph. He was raised with his siblings, Nettie, Eulah, Diane, Alberta, Pearl, Mary, Debra, Peter, Rickey, and Elbert. Willie was educated through Louisiana Public Schools where he built his life blueprint.
After relocating to Colorado, Willie gained employment working for Rocky Flats. He later owned his own business “Willie Joseph” in the landscaping industry. He always performed his duties with a sprit of excellence, earning the respect of his colleagues and clients.
When he wasn’t working, Willie enjoyed watching sports. His favorite athlete was Shaquille O’Neal, however his expectations for Shaq were very high and he often found himself yelling at the television “What are you doing boy?”. More importantly, Willie enjoyed spending time with his family. His children, Anthony Collins, Mary Joseph, Willie Joseph, Jr., Willie Collins, and Patricia Templeton recall that their father loved his dogs and had many memories of him playing softball and participating in bowling tournaments.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Monroe Joseph; sisters, Nettie James, Eulah Hilliard, Diane Johnson; son, Anthony Collins; daughter, Mary Joseph.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Joyce Collins-Joseph; sons, Willie Joseph, Jr., Willie Collins; daughter, Patricia Templeton (Robert); brothers, Peter Joseph, Rickey (Celina) Joseph, Elbert (Rhonda) Joseph; sisters, Alberta (Emmitt) Coleman, Pearl Burton, Mary Joseph and Debra Joseph.
