Terrence Lee Bentley was born on September 20, 1951 in Denver, CO, to his parents, Gloria and Harvey Bentley. He was the first-born child in the family and was raised with his sister, Carin. From an early age, Terrence found favoritism in his family, his uncles adored him. Terrence was very gifted, singing in the church choir and playing the drums. He was active in the boy scouts and learned about taking responsibility early on. When he was 4 years old, he learned how to use the telephone. Once he became familiar with how to use the phone, he habitually called his grandmother to ask her if she could make him cookies.
Terrance was educated through Denver Public Schools where he attended and graduated from Manual High School. Following high school, he entered the workforce with an open mind and determination to do well. Over the duration of his working career, he worked in the electrical field making Circuit Boards at Western Electric and later at several liquor stores where he was promoted to Store Manager.
Terrence met a lovely young lady by the name of Jacquelyn Cooper in Denver, Colorado. The couple were joined in holy matrimony on December 18, 1980 at the City and County of Denver Building. To this union, Quincy and April Bentley were born. Prior to meeting Jacquelyn, Terrence was blessed with the birth of his first born son, Terrence Lee Bentley II. He later gained two additional children, LaRae Chapman and Raesheia Nubine. Terrence spent a lot of time with his children, playing kickball outside and teaching them how to dive.
He gained an additional source of pride and joy with the addition of his grandchildren, to them, he was affectionately known as Skippy “Skip”.
During his free time, Terrence enjoyed watching T.V. including the show, Young and the Restless and Westerns. He also enjoyed listening to music, taking drives around the city, and eating southern barbeque, especially baby back ribs.
Terrence was a gentle man who enjoyed life and the people he encircled. He will truly be missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harvey Bentley; and his son, Terrence Lee Bentley II.
