TARA NICOLE MCELMURRY

- Tara Nicole McElmurry, 41, passed away unexpectedly July 24, 2022.  She was born August 29, 1980, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the daughter of Vickie Sue McElmurry and John Michael McElmurry.

Tara graduated from Overland High School, Aurora, Colorado, Class of 1998.  Following graduation, she attended University of Southern Colorado, Pueblo, Colorado.  She later moved to Tempe, Arizona in 2000.

Tara was a devoted and incredibly amazing mother and loved nothing more than her two daughters. She was also a talented volleyball player, Broncos lover, and loved adventures. One of her favorite ways of spending her time was at the Brutal Poodle in Denver, Colorado amongst friends and family and always knew how to have a good time.

Tara cherished everyone around her and gave so much love and empathy and grace to everyone she came in contact with. Her presence alone was a true blessing, and she will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends.  She worked tirelessly in the service industry enjoying her friends.

Before returning to Colorado, Tara’s life revolved around her 2 beautiful daughters Mya Denaa McElmurry-Acuna and Aaliyah Nicole Rydahl of Centennial, Colorado.

Those left to cherish her memory and live out her legacy in addition to her parents and children are her 2 brothers, John M. McElmurry II (wife – Sarah) and Sheldon J. McElmurry (wife – Angela).  2 sisters are Erin D. McElmurry and Schnoah M. McElmurry. She has 2 nieces (Dulce and Kylah) and 2 nephews (Nick and Kingston)

A service of remembrance was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 3 at Washington Park, Denver, Colorado.
