A WOMAN OF GRACE
Rosette Johnson
Rosette Johnson – born June 6, 1948 The storyteller’s journey has come to an end but may the stories she shared live on in our hearts. Rosette Johnson was more than a narrator of memories, she was a keeper of legacies, a voice for those who came before, and a light for those who remain. Though many of her cherished loved ones preceded her in passing, Rosette kept their spirits alive through the stories she told. She now joins those beloved souls—her devoted parents, John W. Foley and Julia M. Simpson; her grandparents, Claude and Rose DePriest; her great grandparents, Zechariah and Mary Hooper; and many treasured aunts, uncles, and cousins. Their memories lived on through her, and now she rests among them. Rosette was a believer and loved Jesus Christ deeply. Her faith was the foundation of her life; she lived with the quiet strength of someone who trusted in God’s promises. We take comfort in knowing she now rests in eternal peace, embraced by the love of her Savior. Rosette leaves behind a loving family who will continue to carry her memories forward, daughters Mishaal Hayes and Toshia Foley Cowan, grandchildren Katherine Taggart, Nathaniel Hayes Jr., Kylah Coleman and her great-grandchildren Rayden Taggart and Jaylen Hayes. Rosette was preceded in death by a grand-daughter Brea Foley, whose memory she carried close to her heart. Rosette was preceded in death by a former husband, Karl R. Johnson. May her journey onward be peaceful and may her legacy continue to inspire us to tell our own stories with courage, warmth, and grace
