In Loving Memory of Ronnie Dennis Allen
September 1, 1953 - July 15, 2026
Ronnie Dennis Allen was born on September 1, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, to Carleen and Elijah Allen, the third of six children. He shared a special relationship with his beloved grandmother, Lily, whose love and guidance remained a steady influence throughout his life.
From an early age, Ronnie enjoyed life's simple pleasures -- buttered popcorn, basketball with friends and a great burger, a favorite that earned him a well-known nickname inspired by a northeast Denver popular burger spot. He attended Ebert Elementary, Merrill Junior High, and East High School, where he formed enduring friendships with Fernando, Robert, Darryl, Skeeter, Leslie, Steve and the late Thierry Smith.
Ronnie later attended Regis University, studying Organizational Development and Marketing. Music and dance were lifelong passions, and he shared them as a DJ while building an extensive record collection. He was also a skilled Bid Whist card player and enjoyed time with his sister Audrey and the Montbello Golden Age Club.
Ronnie began his professional career with United Airlines in 1978, relocating to Chicago for 11 years, where he formed a lifelong friendship with coworker and roommate Donnell. While in Chicago, he married Stacha Boothe, and they welcomed a son, Marcus. Ronnie was later briefly married to Rosalind. He later worked in Los Angeles before returning to Colorado, where he built a successful career in telecommunications sales with US West and Xfinity, earning multiple sales awards. He also founded RDA Promotions a promotional products company. In retirement, he pursued voiceover acting, where his talent was quickly recognized.
During a 1987 holiday visit home, Ronnie met Traci at a friend's gathering, beginning a friendship and later a relationship. They began dating in 1999 and were married in 2010 at the Chapel at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado.
Ronnie served faithfully at For His Glory Christian Fellowship Church on the Audio-Visual Ministry and in the Men's Choir.
Ronnie passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, at Denver Hospice at Lowry, surrounded by love. He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, generosity, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. Whether through music, conversation, or a simple smile. Ronnie never met a stranger. His legacy of kindness, faith, and connection will live on in all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Traci Smith Allen; son, Marcus M. Allen (Danisha), grandchildren, Julius Allen and Zoe Allen; bonus daughter, Mariah Love; siblings, Audrey Taylor, Douglas Allen (Sharrie), Ty Allen, and Becky Allen and David Allen; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Ronnie's life was a testament to fellowship, faith and love. His spirit remains forever cherished.
