Ronald Lee Wright

August 23, 1949 — January 4, 2024

On Tuesday, August 23, 1949, in Denver, CO., Clabe and Aretha Wright, a young couple from Marshall, Texas, became the proud parents of their first born child, Ronald Lee Wright, to whom they gave the nickname "Bobo." Bobo was spoiled by both parents and remained so throughout his life. Bobo later became the Big Brother to Daniel, Beverly, Nevetta, and Herrell. Clabe and Aretha had hopes that Bobo and his siblings would be able to obtain opportunities and reach heights that were unavailable to them or their ancestors.

Bobo grew up in a household surrounded with love, encouragement, fun, laughter, and discipline. He witnessed his parents' hard work and dedication to ensure that the family was well taken care of and would be able to partake in any and all opportunities presented to enhance his physical, mental, financial, and spiritual growth. Bobo always knew he could depend and trust his parents and that they would do their best to find time to be involved in his and his siblings' lives. Bobo's parents emphasized the need to have God in his life and made God and Biblical teachings as important as his formal education.

As a child, Bobo attended Sunday school and church services regularly, and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church at an early age by Reverend Dr. M.C. Williams. Bobo was enrolled as a band member in the Mile High Boys Band during his youth years and played the saxophone.

Bobo was a bright young man and excelled in mathematics. He was educated in the Denver Public School System and graduated from George Washington High School in 1967. Following his graduation from High School, Bobo chose to attend Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, CO. While there, he met Kathy Edwards and became the proud father of three children: Toilynn Antoinette, Todd Alan, and Tracey Lourene Edwards. Bobo was proud of his children and granddaughters and over the years, collected numerous pictures, news clippings, announcements, and other articles pertaining to them.

Knowing the importance of work, Bobo returned to the Denver area and worked at various places of employment over several years, before becoming disabled following a work injury. He was known to get up each morning and mop the floors in the family home; dump the trash; aid his brother Danny with medical help as needed; in the summer, he made it his chore to mow the lawn at the family home; and in the winter, to shovel the snow. Bobo also made it his business to regularly check on his 96 year old mother, Aretha, who is still in and cared for in the family home. Bobo loved playing “Pick 3”, lottery scratch games, watching his favorite television shows, and visiting with friends.

Bobo was brought up as a child should be raised. As an adult, he was described to be fun-loving; a good person; friendly; to have a good heart; to have loved his mama, daddy, children, other family members and friends; and he enjoyed life to the fullest. Bobo was his own man and was not concerned as to what others might think of him.

At 3:56 am, on January 4, 2024, Ronald "Bobo" Lee Wright unexpectantly passed from this life. Bobo was very much loved by his family and friends and will be missed, but not forgotten. Bobo was preceded in death by: his Father - Clabe Wright; Mother of his three children - Katherine (Kathy) Edwards; Maternal Grandparents - Johnnie and Elizabeth Johnson; Paternal Grandparents - Leola Smith and Rev. Clabe Wright Sr.; and numerous uncles, aunts, and other relatives. Those left to cherish his memories are: His Beloved Mother - Aretha Louise Johnson-Wright; Children - Toilynn (Adrian Norwood) Edwards, Todd (Rachelle) Edwards, and Tracy Edwards; Siblings - Nevetta (Norman) Wright-Chapman, Daniel Wright, Herrell Wright, and Beverly Wright; Nephew - Daniel Wright, Jr; Nieces - Akilah Wright, Courtney Chapman, Whitney (Christopher) Chumbley, and Lynsey Chapman; Grandchildren - Brooklyn Noel Olivia Norwood and Mia Katherine Edwards; Great Nephew - Mason Charles Chumbley; and a host of other relatives, friends, and acquaintances.

Bobo lived 74 years (27,396 days) on this earth. The Clabe and Aretha Wright family will forever thank GOD for gifting us with his presence on this earth and making Ronald Lee Wright one of the links of our family. Bobo now has the WINGS promised by GOD!
