Rev. Dr. Sharon K. Reed

October 31, 1956 — June 7, 2025

If you knew her, you loved her and if you ever crossed paths with her, she probably made you laugh and feel seen. Reverend Dr. Sharon Kay Reed was one of one. She walked with God, cooked with love, and lived with a heart big enough to hold everyone she met.

Sharon’s life was a living testimony of faith, love, and unwavering devotion. An Honorary Doctorate in Divinity, was bestowed on her by her pastor at bedside, after her sickness had progressed to the point she couldn't walk or speak. I believe that her ears received the message and that her mind interpreted the sound; and her spirit couldn't stop from shouting and her feet were dancing and running around.

Long before either title of Reverend or Doctor. Sharon's life had already been one full of faith and a love for all things God. Known for her anointed prayers, which could shift atmospheres, and a worship two-step like no other, Sharon embodied the joy of the Lord in every room she entered.

Born on October 31, 1956, in Denver, Colorado, to Issac and Rosie Smith, Sharon was deeply rooted in both faith and family. She worked 35 years at Adolph Coors company. After retirement, she continued to occupy herself & pour her energy into serving her family, friends, and community, but first she served the Lord.

A true matriarch, she raised three children: Gaylon, Carlena and Tonnika. She was the constant grandparent and sometimes surrogate parent for Jordan, Justin, and Julian, (Gaylon), Zamiah, (Carlena) Jasmin and Joyclyn,( Tonnika).

Her legacy lives on through her eight great-grandchildren: Maria, Faith, Amari, Bella, Azariah, Jody, Koda, and August.

To know Sharon was to witness a prayer warrior in action. Her faith wasn’t quiet or convenient, it was lived out loud. Her children and grandchildren can testify to the sound of her prayers echoing through the house and catching her deep in worship for hours. She was faithful in serving and never wanted to be late or miss church. Sharon was always anchored in the Lord. She served her last assignment joyfully at Harvest Church under the leadership of Bishop Kevin Foreman, greeting everyone like long-lost family.

Family meant everything to her. Seeing her loved ones together brought her more joy than anything else. She made sure her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew the names and stories of those who came before them, especially her mother, Rosie, whom she loved with the entirety of her heart.

Sharon was love in motion. She gave without hesitation, shared wisdom with a sharp wit, and never lost her spark. That sass? Unforgettable. And let’s not forget "the pinch." If you know, you know, and if you don’t, count your blessings.

She loved God. She loved her family. And yes, she definitely loved her "stories", The Young and the Restless being her favorite.

Although our hearts grieve, and the space around us appears empty. Please know that Sharon is now dancing in glory. She is reunited with her beloved parents and sister. She is held in the eternal arms of the One she served so faithfully. With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we celebrate the life and legacy of Reverend Dr. Sharon Kay Reed; a woman whose prayers moved mountains and whose love made the world a softer place.
