A woman of grace
On October 1, 1948, in the quaint town of Henderson, Texas, the world welcomed Pennetter Marie Pryor-Godbee into a loving family, born to Wilbert and Maurine Pryor. A bright and spirited soul, she illuminated the halls of Hill High School before
embarking on her journey through life, which led her to the vibrant campus of Prairie View A&M.
In the tapestry of her life, Pennetter shared a beautiful chapter with her first husband, Don Randell, from whom she welcomed her beloved son, Bobby Randell. Though their marriage came to an end, the bond with her son remained a cornerstone of her heart. Later, love found her again in Paul Godbee, with whom she built a life filled with shared dreams and tender memories.
Pennetter dedicated many years employed with Safeway, where her warm smile and infectious spirit as a cashier made her a cherished presence. Upon her retirement, she embraced new adventures as an entrepreneur, diving into the world of real estate with the same enthusiasm that characterized every endeavor she pursued.
Beyond her professional life, Pennetter's passions flourished. She was an avid reader and a gifted quilter, fabricating warmth not only through threads and fabrics but also by threading together cherished memories with her loved ones. Her love for sports was palpable, as she cheered on her favorite teams with boundless energy. Her faith was a guiding light, as she attended Sun Country Community Church, drawing strength from its community.
Pennetter reunites now with her beloved parents, Wilbert and Maurine Pryor, and her dear siblings- Wilbert Jr., Urias, Velton, and Annie- as well s her nephew Robert. She leaves behind a legacy brimming with love: her son Bobby; granddaughters Zakiya Randell and Kahleanna
Vohra; great-grandsons Eli French, Remi French, and Kai Vohra; and her brothers Melvin, Senora, and Winfred Pryor, alongside a host of devored relatives and friends.
