Norma Schrimscher

November 27, 1933 — April 5, 2023

Denver, Colorado

Norma Janette Hutchinson Midgyett Schrimscher was born on November 27, 1933 in Marceline, Missouri. She was the fourth child born in the family and was raised with her siblings, Jack, Phylis and Geraldin. As a child, Norma enjoyed assisting her mother in the garden. She continued gardening in her adult hood.

She was educated through Marceline Public Schools where she attended and graduated from Dolton High School. Following high school, Norma met a young man by the name of Martin Midgyett at a carnival. The couple were joined in holy matrimony in 1951. To this union, Alvin, Martin, Jr., Michael, Susan, Janette, Timothy, Robin, Penny and Allen were born. The couple enjoyed many wonderful years together. She later met a man by the name of Paul Schrimscher in the late 1980’s and they were married on August 5, 1987 in Denver, Colorado.

Norma spent her entire life as a stay-at-home mother. She raised all of her children with pride and love and gave them the essentials to be successful in life. Her children recall how compassionate and sincere she was. She was blessed to have 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. To them, she was affectionately known as “Nanny”. When they were sick she volunteered to stay home and take care of them. She was always present for their birthdays, and even took them to church.

Norma was a true woman of faith that devoted her life to the growth of the Lord’s kingdom. She was a member at Living Waters Tabernacle for forty-five years. She was a true shepherd who walked by faith and not by sight. She meant it when she would say “what a friend we have in Jesus”.

In her free time, Norma enjoyed going on walks, showing affection to pets and spending time with her family.

Those that know Norma best describe her as the life of the party. She was strong, sincere, and kind, yet stubborn. She will forever be missed.

Norma passed way into the embrace of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 5, 2023. Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Susan Marlene; her sons, Martin, Jr., Dexter Alvin, Timothy Mark and Andrew Kevin; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
