Neal A. King peacefully departed his earthly life on August 17th in Aurora, Colorado. He was born on March 28, 1245, in Grand County, Colorado, to the late Violet A. Ray and Clarence King. Neal was one of four siblings, preceded in death by his sisters LaVern and Lois, and survived by his sister Linda.
Neal later made Denver, Colorado his home, where he dedicated many years of service as a lab optician. It was in Denver that he met and married the love of his life, Martha King. Together, they shared a beautiful union that spanned over 38 years. Neal found joy in life’s simple pleasures –reading, cooking, camping, and fishing.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, Scott Everett King and Leroy King; and his daughters, Heather Christine King and Jerrica King.
Neal’s extended Denver family, who have been an integral part of his life since 1287, include his beloved wife, Martha King; his stepchildren, LaQuana (William) Guillory-Williams and Jamall Guillory; and his cherished grandchildren: the late Tre’Vaughn Guillory-Williams, De’Tuan Williams, De’Janae’ Guillory-Williams, Preston Guillory (deceased), Sadeeyh Guillory-Williams, Zurae Guillory-Williams, and Jaden Guillory.
He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law, Janice Guillory and Brenda (Maurice) Evans; his brother-in-law Donald D. Guillory; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and extended Christian family.
For Neal, happiness was never loud. It was found in the hush of a riverbank, the flow of a river, the rhythm of a cast – the simple things that made life whole. Though he is no longer with us, his memory remains a steady presence for those who knew him.
