Napoleon Cleophus
McCullough
February 19, 1952 – March 2, 2026
With heavy hearts, we remember and celebrate the life of Napoleon Cleophus McCullough, who was born on February 19, 1952, in the humble town of Holly Grove, Arkansas. Born to Pete McCullough and Reba Bray, Napoleon grew surrounded by a loving family that included his brothers Pete, Randolph, Henry, Gregory, and Lucias, as well as his sisters Linda Green-Nelson, Barbara Dawson, Erma J. McCullough, and Yolanda M. McCullough-Jackson.
From his early days, Napoleon found joy and solace in the quiet pleasures of fishing and the artistry of woodworking—a craft that would become both his profession and a testament to his patient, skillful nature. Educated at Manual High School in Denver, Colorado, he carried these passions into adulthood, shaping a life filled with dedication to his work and love for those around him.
Known to friends for his sharp sense of humor, his straightforward manner, and his compassionate spirit, Napoleon was a man who never hesitated to lend a hand. His closest companion, Larry Evans, and a wide circle of friends will remember him fondly for the warmth and sincerity he brought into every interaction.
Napoleon’s heart was especially full when surrounded by family. He was affectionately called “Pawpaw” by his beloved grandchildren—Devante, Tyler, Joshua, Aubrey, Adora, Brittany, Joi, Jasmine, and Kashawna—who cherish his memory deeply. Among many treasured recollections is his fondness for his Volkswagen Beetles, a symbol of personal joy and freedom that delighted him throughout his life. He is survived by his son, Timothy McCullough, who carries forward his legacy.
Beyond his craftsmanship, Napoleon enjoyed leisure moments playing cards and dominos, simple joys that reflected his grounded and joyful spirit. Though he never served in the military nor married publicly, his life was rooted in the strength of family ties and the warmth of a community that embraced him.
Napoleon Cleophus McCullough departed this world in Denver, Colorado, on March 2, 2026. We find comfort in the words of Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 and the hymn “I’m Free” by Reverend Milton Brunson, which echo the peaceful transition of a soul well-lived.
As we remember Napoleon, we celebrate a life marked by craftsmanship, kindness, and unwavering love—a life that touched so many and leaves behind a legacy of resilience and heartfelt connection. May his memory forever be a blessing to all who knew him.
