LIFE’S JOURNEY

Marshal Marie Morgan

Marshal Marie Morgan, born April 3, 1952, in Denver, Colorado, entered eternal rest on December 4, 2025. The beloved daughter of Marshal Juniel and Zenobia Smith Lockhart, she grew up in Denver, where her brilliance, discipline, and compassion began to take shape early. A proud graduate of Manual High School’s Class of 1969, she earned a full academic scholarship to the University of Denver at just 16 years old, later completing her teaching certificate. Her commitment to excellence and learning remained constant throughout her life.

Marshal’s professional journey reflected both her versatility and deep dedication to public service. She began her career in banking, serving 13 years at American National Bank and Metro National Bank in operations and lending. During the Savings & Loan crisis of the 1980s, she brought her expertise to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), where she played a critical role in closing failed institutions during a pivotal moment in the nation’s financial history. As Closing Supervisor, she led with integrity, precision, and calm under pressure. She later joined TTEC Corporation as an Accounting Manager, retiring after 22 years of distinguished service.

On July 27, 1974, Marshal married Ferron Morgan, forming an inseparable bond after their initial encounter in New York City in the early 70s. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Ferron Morgan II (born October 31, 1979) and Barrington “Barry” Morgan (born September 2, 1981). Her heart carried both immense pride and profound sorrow, especially after the passing of her son Barry in 2023. Through every joy and every hardship, Marshal remained the steady center of her familywise, gracious, and endlessly giving.

Marshal’s legacy extends far beyond her professional accomplishments. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, her generous spirit, and her unwavering ability to make others feel seen, supported, and loved. This was clearly evidenced in her significant contributions to the family history book, a project that spanned several years and required immense coordination. Further, her life was a testament to perseverance, service, and the beauty of life lived with great passion and purpose. She leaves behind a legacy cherished by her husband, Ferron Morgan Sr., and her son, Ferron Morgan II, and all who were blessed to know her.
