Lue Bertha Whitley was born on April 16, 1942 in Winchester, Arkansas to her parents, Erma and Charlie Jones. She was the 6th of 12 children born in the family. She was raised with her sisters, Eola, Veola, Versie, Lafayette, Bertha (twin sister), and Freddie; brothers, Charlie, Tommy, Jimmy, and Ralph.

As a child, Lue loved to do everything with her twin sister. Family time was the most important to her and she created many wonderful memories with her siblings. One of many memories included building playhouses out of dirt, pretended to purchase bread from one another with buttons that they used as coins.

Lue was educated through Arkansas Public Schools, she attended Coleman Jr. High School which aided in the development of her blueprint. Lue met a young man by the name of L. C. Whitley, they were later joined in holy matrimony in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. To this union, Nathaniel, James, Leon, Robert Lee, Jessie Lee, Brenda Lee, Stephanie and Ora Lee were born. The family created many wonderful memories together.

Professionally, Lue served in the housekeeping industry where she worked for various hotel chains. She always performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. Lue was a woman of faith that knew her help came from the Lord. She volunteered at churches and organizations distributing clothes and food during holidays. She was recognized for her outstanding service, receiving an award for Volunteer of the Year.

Lue is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Earma Jones; daughters, Brenda and Ora; sons; Robert and Jessie; siblings, Charlie, Tommy, Jimmy, Ralph, Eola, Veola, Versie, Lafayette, and Freddie.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Nathaniel, James, and Leon Whitley; daughter, Stephanie; sister, Bertha; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
