Leslie Henry was born on April 20, 1970 in Millport, Alabama to her parents, Clara and Lester Henry. She was the fourth child born in the family and was raised with her siblings, Willie, Rose, Jean, JoAnn, Janet, Tonya, Sabrina and Paula.

She later gained an additional source of pride and joy with the birth of Kofi, Khalil, William, Ieasha and Gregory III. To them, she was known as “Mommy Let-Let Granny”.

To know Leslie was to know that she was very straightforward and kind hearted. She would certainly tell you the truth whether you would like to hear it or not, but would also show support any time it was needed. To keep her mind occupied and bring joy to her days, Leslie found comfort in arts & crafts. She would create handmade “pop-up” birthday cards for family and friends. She would meticulously draw, color, cut, and paste each piece, adding a heartfelt message to make the card special.

One of Leslie’s most creative and meaningful works of art was a lifelike display depicting her dialysis treatment. It became her pride and joy. The piece was so special that DaVita proudly placed her artwork on display for others to enjoy
