Lee Vernon “Mack” McGee, Jr.

Lee Vernon McGee was born and raised in the vibrant city of Oklahoma City, Mack’s life was marked by heartfelt faith; he accepted Christ at an early age and became a cherished member of Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church. His journey through life began with his graduation from Douglass High School, soon followed by his noble service in the United States Air Force, where he esteemed his duties and country.
Mack later found his passion behind the wheel, embarking on the rugged roads as an over-the-road truck driver. In 1980, he embraced Colorado as home and dedicated over three decades to the United States Postal Service, where his commitment shone bright not only as a truck driver, but as a diligent union steward. His voice echoed the values of advocacy and camaraderie, standing up for his colleagues as a testament to his character. His love for community blossomed further as he proudly took on the role of President of the Denver Broncos Supporters Club, where camaraderie and passion for the game intertwined.
Those who had the privilege of crossing paths with Mack were warmed by his generous spirit, quick humor, and undeniable charisma. A fountain of wisdom, he offered comforting advice and heartfelt guidance to anyone who reached out to him. Family gatherings thrived under his infectious laughter, and travel, bowling, domino games, and jazz filled his heart with delight. Mack lived by an inspiring motto: “enjoy life while you can,” and he exemplified this every day, mastering the art of weaving joy into the fabric of hard work.
As we reflect on Mack's vibrant spirit, we hold dear the echoes of his laughter, the warmth of his stories, and the unwavering love he had for those around him. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit endures in our hearts—a poignant reminder to embrace life and immerse ourselves in love, just as he did.
On the serene morning of September 30, 2025, Lee Vernon McGee, Jr., lovingly known to all as “Mack,” departed this world peacefully at the age of 73, following a valiant struggle against cancer.
Mack’s legacy is one of love and connection, enduring through his beloved wife, Denise, and their cherished children, Tiffany, Jamar, and Lee. He is also remembered fondly by his sister, Verra Clemons; his niece, Cheryll Clemons; and nephews, Mark Thomas, Robert Hudson, and Randall Hudson, alongside countless relatives and friends whose lives were forever enriched by his presence.
He is reunited in eternal peace with his cherished parents, Lee Vernon Sr. and Josephine Bernice, his younger brother, Robert Arnold, and his sisters, Mable Elizabeth Thomas and Janet Carol Wilson and a host of other relatives and m any friends.
