Kathryn Kindle- Hughes, 82, of Aurora Colorado beloved wife, mother, sister, auntie, cousin and friend passed away on April 27, 2023. Kathryn graduated from the University of Arkansa at Pine Bluff with a degree in Social work. Kathryn moved to Denver Colorado, to seek help for her son who suffered with sickle cell anemia. In a strange place, with limited family support and five children she forged ahead, seeking her place in the world. As a substitute teacher she found her calling, believing that every child had a right to be educated. Realizing her purpose she went on to pursue a lifelong career in education. Starting out as a substitute teacher, Kathryn quickly realized her passion for teaching and held multiple roles at Thomas Jefferson High school. One of the most rewarding positions she held was as the girls Basketball coach, first as an assistant coach at Montbello High School, the Head coach at Thomas Jefferson High School where she spent her career. As an educator and basketball coach she touched and blessed many lives. Many have stated that she inspired them to greatness! Kathryn's love of humanity led her to be mother to many and friend to all. Kathryn was blessed after the loss of her first husband, through her union with Jonah Ansel Hughes on February 24, 2014. She transitioned at the home that they shared, peacefully, and loved. Kathryn is survived by her loving children, Micheal Kindle, Rodney Kindle, Fernandez Kindle, Felicia Kindle, Dwelver Kindle-Webb and Kenyatta Henderson. Her husband, Ansel Hughes; Her grandchildren, Kanekalon Kindle, Leah Lynch, Whitney Kindle, Jacques Kindle, Rena Roach, Jameelah Whimbush, Kareemah Whimbush, Ameerah Kindle, Shaka Long, Jequone Webb, Mohummad Long, Ishmail Long, Ahad Kindle, and Faith Kindle,Tera Keller, Anthony Keller. Her Great-grandchildren, Kylie Kindle, Natala Hernandez, Inayah Long, Zayne Long, Austin McPheeters, Her sister’s Bobbie Hilton, Maxcine Henderson, Charlyne Wesley, Sherdyne Cornish, Nadine Henderson, Linda Bass, Audry Henderson, Joyce Davis-Gooley, and one brother, Lee Henderson. A host of nieces, nephews and friends. Kathryn was preceded in death by her mother and father, James and Emma Henderson, Her two sons Kenneth and Tyrone Kindle and her Husband Samuel Kindle.
