John Gholston Obituary

John Ervin Gholston, 86, of Commerce City, Colorado passed away peacefully on April 09, 2024. He was born on Tuesday January 25, 1938, in Panola, AL to the union of the late Ollin and Amanda Gholston. John attended North Sumter Junior High School. At a young age John accepted Christ John Baptist Church in Panola AL. John's professional career included being a dedicated employee at GE Motor for 25+ years. He also spent many years hunting and taking on individual projects.

John rededicated his life to Christ in 1990 to Christian Love Missionary Baptist Church.

John was preceded in death by parents Ollin and Amanda Gholston his (5) brothers Freeman (Larryne) Gholston, Ollin (Willie Mae) Gholston Jr., Howard (Nell) Gholston, Thomas (Slyvia) Gholston, Ulysses (Aurelia) Gholston, Richard (Gloria) Gholston (2) sisters Lee Ethel (Alvin) Little, Arnetha (Daniel) Gholston, Son Andre Gholston and beloved wife Joyce Ann Gholston.

John leaves to cherish his memories: Brothers Aaron (Mary) Gholston, Leon (Paula) Gholston, Sister Almeda (the late John)  Mcleod, Devoted children Derrick (Mindy) Gholston, Eric Gholston, Jennae Pitts Gholston, Theresa Jackson (Hank) Gwendelyn Jackson (Loyd), Vicki Gholston, Brassel Jackson (Lucy), Steve (Natasha) Jackson, Roosevelt Little and Alberta Houston, and 60 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews along with other loving family and treasured friends.

John's legacy is left through his unwavering devotion to his family, friends, church, and community. His memory is cherished by all who knew him. He now takes rest from his earthly labor to receive his heavenly reward.
