Loving Memory of Jerome Edwin Meyer
Born on June 22, 1948, in the serene town of George, Iowa, Jerome Edwin Meyer illuminated the lives of those around him from his very first breath. The cherished second son of Carl Fredrick Meyer and Eunice Joyce DeBoer, he shared his formative years with his beloved brothers, Stan and Lowell, who would carry cherished memories of their bond throughout their lives.
A proud veteran, Jerome answered the call of duty by enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he embodied courage and honor. Yet, it was in California during a fateful meeting with Judy May Willson that his heart truly found its home. They exchanged vows on the joyous eve of December 31, 1970, embarking on a loving journey together that would yield two beautiful daughters: Wendy Rene and Lori Nicole, who carried forward Jerome's legacy of strength and compassion.
Jerome was a man of many passions. He took immense pride in his locksmith business, crafting security solutions with meticulous care. His heartbeat quickened at the thought of martial arts; he dedicated himself to martial mastery, achieving the esteemed title of Master Black Belt in Kung Fu San Soo under the guidance of the remarkable Jimmy H. Woo, a teacher more like family.
Jerome's journey on this earth came to its somber conclusion on June 26, 2025, at the Hilltop Park Post Acute Nursing Home, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, resilience, and respect. He is lovingly remembered by his older brother Stan Meyer, sister-in-law Cathy Meyer, and his two daughters, Wendy and Lori, who will forever hold his spirit in their hearts.
