In Loving Memory of Janet Nadine Robinson Who passed away July 23, 2026.

Janet Nadine Robinson, lovingly known as Jan to her family and friends, was born December 7, 1942. Named after her beloved grandmother, Jeanette, Jan was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, nurse, and cherished friend whose warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit touched many lives. Born to Robert Theodore “Ted” Cook and Olivia Cook, she spent her early years in Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Evanston, Illinois. She graduated from John Marshall High School in Chicago and was known for her friendly, social, and opinionated spirit, as well as her love of music, dancing, and bowling family in Chicago and later with her, husband and Daughter on bowling Teams in Denver.

Music was always special to Jan. As a young woman, she developed an interest in learning to play the electric guitar, inspired in part by her future husband, Edward Earl “Earl” Robinson, who was a drummer in several bands and had the opportunity to perform alongside notable musicians. Jan met Earl when she was just 17 years old, and their love eventually led to marriage and the birth of their daughter, Jendaya, in 1975.

In 1969, Jan moved to Denver with her mom after her father's passing. and devoted her entire nursing career to caring for others. She worked as a nurse with the University of Colorado’s methadone clinic and later in an assisted living facility, where her compassion and caring nature touched many lives. Jan was also a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, along with her mother and grandmother. She found great joy in spending time with her long-time neighbors, the late Edwards family, and longtime family friends, the Ross and Rousseau families, as well as her coworker and friend, Dolores.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Olivia Cook and Robert Theodore “Ted” Cook, and her beloved husband, Edward "Earl" Robinson. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Jendaya; sister, Dawn; granddaughters, Asharia, Malaya, and Mashea; nieces, Traci and Kaira; nephew, Adam; Great niece, Mariah favorite cousin, Barry; and many cherished cousins, friends, neighbors, and loved ones. Jan will be remembered for her caring heart, love of family and music, devotion to helping others, and her strong, opinionated spirit. She was never afraid to speak her mind and was unapologetically herself. Her warmth, laughter, and beautiful spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
