James Henry Linzey

James Henry Linzey AKA “Mr. Linzey”, was born on October 5, 1934, in Heth, Arkansas. James, known for his dedication and hard work, was respected among his peers and the community he served.

Throughout his life, James took great pride in how he presented himself and was often seen in immaculate suits. His attention to detail and sense of style were reflective of his personality and the values he held dear. Beyond his career, James had a deep passion for travel and was fortunate enough to explore many places around the United States. He cherished these experiences and sought companionship with his closest friends Elijah Hobbs and Harold Barefield.

James will be lovingly remembered for his unwavering faith and the strength it brought him. He firmly believed in standing up for what was right and was recognized as a man of integrity among those who knew him well. His impactful presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

James' proudest accomplishments include the addition of his grandchildren Joegina Phillips, Remela Linzy, and Raheem Linzy to his family. He found immeasurable joy in their presence and took immense pride in watching them grow.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Annie B. Lindsey and Roosevelt Lindsey Sr.,; siblings, Tennest Brown,  Velma Lee, Roosevelt Lindsey, Jr., Charlie Linzey, Bertha Johnson and Ella Mae Bradshaw; as well as grandchildren, Remela Linzy and Raheem Linzy.

He is survived by his life partner of 41 years, Carolyn Wysinger; daughters Brenda Linzy of Clovis, NM and Gale Linzy of Aurora, CO; granddaughter Joegina Phillips; stepdaughters Tammy Stribling and Vette Robie Pansy of Houston, TX.


James Henry Linzey has left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. As we come together to celebrate his life and bid him farewell, let us remember the warmth and kindness that radiated from his soul. May his memory be cherished forever.
