Jim (JW) Berryman, aged 72, peacefully passed away on August 15, 2024. He bravely confronted Parkinson’s disease with dignity, grace, and perseverance. Jim is survived by his loving wife Teresa Berryman, his siblings, and his adoring extended family. Jim was a nurturing and devoted father to Ariel Berryman, who predeceased him. Ariel was his bright and shining star.
Jim lived in Colorado for 67 years, residing in Fort Collins and Denver. Jim was an electrician, a project manager, and an inspector. He retired from the Anschutz Medical Campus.
Jim lived with gusto, climbing Colorado 14ers, coaching sports, providing pyrotechnics at air shows, traveling the world, and volunteering for many charities. Jim’s curiosity and interests knew no bounds. He was a science enthusiast and avidly followed world events and politics.
With his extensive vocabulary, Jim never failed to entertain and amuse everyone around him. Conversations were guaranteed to be intriguing and unexpected. If you spent time with Jim, you were sure to encounter a story, a cartoon, a history lesson, an interesting article, and delicious food.
Jim relished planning parties and surprises for people he cared about. He was always there to help friends, family, and even strangers. His friendly nature and generosity immediately put people at ease. Jim’s mischievous sense of humor and the twinkle in his eyes will be greatly missed. His presence in our lives made us better people.
