Gwendolyn Hinton

January 6, 1957 — April 22, 2013

Gwendolyn Jael Hinton was born on January 6, 1957, to Velma Leila Hinton and Eddie Hinton, Jr. She grew up in Denver Colorado with her two sisters and three brothers. She attended Cole Junior High and Manual High School and she later joined Job Corps, where she earned a degree in childcare. Growing up, Gwennie enjoyed hanging out with her friends at the family house in the backyard on York Street. They would all gather around and watch her brother, Dale preform as the Junior James Brown. She and her friends also loved to play in the house on the Hinton piano. She also enjoyed watching her mother cook. Gwennie had an unconditional love for her family. She especially wanted to keep the family together and was very proud of herself for doing so. In 1982, she welcomed her only son Joseph Keith. Five years later, the thirteen year union between her and Arthur Berry produced a beautiful daughter, Stacy Marie. With her blessing, she gained both Geanesia and Gabriel through the union of marriage to her children. Her life was fulfilled with an abundance of joy with the births of her six grandchildren. Her loving companion, Tyron Fosten completed her life and she loved him with all of her heart. Gwennie was no stranger to the Lord and she wasn't ashamed to let the world know it. Actually, she wasn't ashamed to let the world know a lot of things that was on her mind. She was a free spirit with an open heart. She put her all into everything she did. Her favorite saying was, "whatever you do make sure you be the best at it". She was the best at having class, being unique and being true to herself. Cooking, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren is what she loved to do most. She would want to be remembered by her invigorating smile, her words of wisdom, her loyalty and ability to keep it real, her faith in God and genuine love for all people. We will remember Gwennie by her crazy personality that was truly the life of the party, her good food made with love, her love and affection that she always showed, the class and grace in her wardrobe, the way she spoiled her kids and grandkids, and the list can go on forever. Gwendolyn Jael Hinton departed this life and received her wings on Monday, April 22, 2013, in Aurora, CO. She was greeted at Heaven's gate by her mother, Velma, father, Eddie, sister, Carla and brother, Robert.
