**A Life Well Lived: Remembering Gladys Kay Crowley**

Born on December 4, 1957, in the vibrant city of Denver, Colorado, Gladys Kay Crowley entered this world as the cherished youngest child of Ardie May Armstead and Ivan Bill Brantley. Her childhood was a tapestry of joy and exploration, woven with sunlit days spent swimming and adventuring, alongside the warmth of family and the delightful aromas of her mother's kitchen. When her mother remarried Lester Crowley, he embraced Gladys and her siblings with open arms, adding to the laughter and love that filled their home.

Gladys pursued her education with determination, ultimately earning her GED and a certificate as a seamstress through the job corps. She became a skilled and self-employed seamstress, showcasing her myriad talents while also contributing to the family business alongside her father, Lester. In her own words, she embodied the spirit of a “jack of all trades, but a master of none,” reveling in the richness of a life filled with varied experiences.

Her heart was as expansive as her spirit, forming deep bonds that would last a lifetime. Gladys welcomed into her life two precious daughters—Yolanda Crowley, from her relationship with Cleophos Jones, and Tanika Smith, born of her partnership with Darwin K. Smith. Her legacy continued through four beloved grandchildren and their growing families, whose laughter echoed at the countless gatherings she cherished.

Family was the cornerstone of Gladys's world. She was the heartbeat of family reunions, where her culinary skills dazzled, and her love for music and games lit up the room. With an infectious sense of humor, she left everyone with a smile, whether it was through her mischievous antics or her candid honesty. Known for her adventurous spirit, Gladys lived without reservation, embracing spontaneity and warmth in every encounter. The love and protective nature she showered upon her family were unmatched, even when it sometimes sparked a good-natured debate.

On April 13, 2025, the world lost a vibrant soul as Gladys K. Crowley transitioned from this life into the arms of her family waiting in heaven—reuniting with her mother, Ardie, her father, Ivan, and her stepfather, Lester, among many others who preceded her. She leaves behind a rich legacy cherished by her daughters—Yolanda (Ron) Bryant and Tanika (Damon) Smith—her grandchildren, Kameelah Simmons, I’zharree Smith, Quonta Robinson, Isaiah Smith, Damion Brown Jr. (Mel), and great-granddaughter Sofia, along with an extended family who will forever treasure her spirit.

Though she has departed from our sight, Gladys's impact will resonate eternally within the hearts of those fortunate to know and love her. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, and your love for family will forever guide us. Rest peacefully, dear Gladys; you will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
