Fannie Mae Hampton was born on May 12, 1936 in St. Louis, MO to her parents, Lillie B. Tate & Winston Tate. She was raised with her siblings, Bill, James, Richard, Eliza, Willie Mae, Katherine, Lillie and Rosetta. She was educated through Missouri Public Schools where she enjoyed meeting new people and playing women’s basketball.

Following high school. Fannie met Manard Hampton, the couple welcomed three wonderful children, Michael, Gary and Gail. This marriage was later dissolved.

Fannie became a devoted caretaker who performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. She worked at Ridgehome in Arvada, Colorado, where she supported individuals with disabilities and gained the respect of her co-workers. Her commitment to this role reflected her deep-seated values of empathy and kindness.

Fannie was a woman faith whom put all of her trust in the Lord. She was a proud member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she shared her musical talents by playing the piano for several years. She was also a prayer warrior whom her family and friends knew that they could go to in time of need.

Family meant everything to Fannie. She cherished the time spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, Kyle Edwards, Megan Hampton and Kevin Hampton. They created lasting memories that will be forever treasured. Her passion for cooking was often showcased in family gatherings, she prepared lovely meals that people anticipated in advance of get togethers.

Fannie's legacy is carried forward by her son, Gary Hampton; daughter, Gail Hampton; grandchildren, Kyle Edwards, Megan Hampton and Kevin Hampton, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Fannie Mae Hampton was a remarkable woman whose impact on her family and community will be remembered fondly. In the words of her children, we cannot wait to see her again in Heaven!
