Eva Allen

June 14, 1917 — June 18, 2012

Mrs. Allen was born June 14, 1917 in Tyler, Texas. She made her heavenly transition peacefully at Pilgrim Manor Rehabilitation Center, Bossier City, Louisiana on Monday, June 18, 2012. Eva was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Charles K. Allen, and her daughter Shirley LaMell. She was a born leader and first in many endeavors. Mrs. Allen was the first Imperial Commandress of the Imperial Commandress-Daughter of Isis, for the State of Colorado. She was the first black to own a travel agency along with her husband in Denver. Mrs. Allen was member of many civic and community organizations and she received numerous awards for her active participation. She moved to Bossier City, LA in 2004 and attended the Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church. However, she remained a faithful member of the Cleaves Memorial CME Church in Denver, CO. Mrs. Allen is survived by her cousins, Kenneth (Mary) Ray, Bossier City, LA; Callie Woods, Tyler, TX; Bobbie (Garland) Osborne, Denver, CO; Jimmie (Melba) Ray, Waxahachie, TX, and many other relatives and friends.
