Eric Benson

Eric Benson, a cherished soul who graced our lives, born on May 22, 1970. Eric was the joyful third child of Linda L. Benson and Joe Skinner, imbued with warmth and a spirit that brought light to those around him. Growing up alongside his brothers Fredrick Brown and Jeremiah Antipas, and his sister Ramona Benson, he created a tapestry of memories that will forever be woven into their hearts.

A proud graduate of East High School in 1988, Eric's journey was defined not just by education, but by the bonds he formed along the way. He was an individual who reveled in the company of family and friends, finding joy in gatherings large and small. Whether it was spontaneous adventures or shared moments of laughter, Eric thrived on the connections he built, always ready to embrace new experiences and meet new faces.

Throughout his life, Eric was fortunate to have close friends by his side, notably Anthony Holmes, Brian Jones, and Sherman, who shared in his storytelling and laughter. He lived by the wisdom found in Proverbs 24:13-14 and Psalms 105:3-5, which reflect the treasures of understanding and the pursuit of joy.

As we gather to remember Eric, let us celebrate the laughter he brought, the kindness he shared, and the love that will forever bind us to his spirit. His presence may be gone from this world, but his memory will remain alive in each of us, reminding us to cherish every moment and the connections we hold dear.

Tragically, Eric’s shining light was dimmed far too soon, as he passed away at a bus stop on South Broadway, leaving behind an undeniable legacy of love and friendship. He is survived by Fredrick, Jeremiah, and Ramada, along with two uncles, Eddie and Avery Brown, and his beloved auntie, Roma Bozenan.
