She was the second child born in the family and was raised with her brother, DeAndre Neal and sister, Keirya’Rose Stribling. As a child, Dez was known to be silly, loved eating mac and cheese, and enjoyed sleeping with her mother. Dez took a liking to basketball, and sports as it became a meaningful part of Dez’s early life. A cherished childhood memory includes the day she first wore a Park Hill Falcons football uniform, supported by none other than Chauncey Billups and her Great Grandpa House. Chauncey said “man that little boy outran all those other boys. Grandpa House turned to him and said, "That ain’t no boy, that’s my granddaughter!” That day, her team beat the Disciples. Dez’s athletic accomplishments are numerous and impressive, including securing the North Middle School Championship in Basketball for three consecutive years (2012-2015), where her name remains etched on their championship wall. At RTH she was responsible for managing the dock which her boss remarked how efficient she became at this. She had a bright smile that uplifted all who encountered her. Additionally, Dez contributed her time and energy to vital security roles at cold weather shelters across Denver and nearby areas, supporting unhoused individuals through challenging seasons. Her colleagues fondly remembered her as “Miss Go Getter,” a testament to her commitment and proactive nature.
Outside of work and school, Dez enjoyed taking pictures and going shopping. She also cherished time with her friends, R’Manie, Timiya, Taelor, Jace, Kivon and Steph. These relationships were a source of joy and laughter.
