Dennis Dewayne Ross, Jr. was born to his parents, Kristine Maria Wade and Dennis Dewayne Ross Sr. on January 29, 1980 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
His educational journey was marked by achievements as he graduated from Westminster High School. He played many sports and was able to gain a scholarship in Football to attend Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. There he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and Sociology. Dennis was currently pursuing an MBA in Business & Project Management from CSU Global University, and was expected to graduate in December of 2024.
By profession, Dennis was a Document Storage Coordinator at Health Trust and a Real Estate Broker at Modern Real Estate. His dedication and hard work was admirable.
Dennis was deeply involved in various organizations throughout his life. His early involvement in Boy Scouts, being a junior volunteer at St. Anthony’s Hospital North and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Group highlighted his commitment to community service and personal growth. He was a respected member of DEM DAM DAWGS Motorcycle Club for 13 years and proudly served as the VP of the club.
Dennis met Quinci Trujillo in Durango, Colorado. They were married on December 23, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. To this union, Deja Rose Ross and Dennis Dewayne Ross III were born. Dennis was a devoted father who cherished his children beyond measure. His fondest memories revolved around moments spent with them, whether it was attending their sporting events, teaching his son how to shave for the first time, or sharing special dances with his daughter at the daddy/daughter dance. In addition, they enjoyed playing Mario Cart all night during summer breaks. Dennis was his children’s protector, all the way down to killing bugs around the house even though he was afraid of tiniest of spiders.
As a child Dennis was always eager to learn new things, he was very smart and quite curious. As a baby he loved to play patty cake, and loved music. One day Dennis and his brother David, who are 13 months apart, got into the Vaseline and rubbed it all over their bodies and then poured baby powder all over themselves. Then their mom Kristine came running in (sliding on the floor into the bathroom) to see her babies covered in white powder and she could only see their little eyes looking up at her. When Dennis, David, and Sarah were about 10 years old Sarah decided to make eggs for Dennis and David in her easy bake oven but instead of cooking oil, Sarah used baby oil and when Dennis found out it was baby oil he started to throw-up, Dennis always had a weak stomach. When Dennis, David, and Sarah were pre-teens and received new bikes and started down the street to ride (it was foggy outside) Dennis managed to run into a parked car and got really upset at Sarah and David and said “why didn’t you tell me that car was there!”
Aside from his family life, Dennis had a vibrant personality that left a lasting impact on those around him. He had a keen interest in watches, sparked by David, leading to a cherished watch collection. Known for his competitive spirit, Dennis enjoyed engaging in family cookouts to showcase his BBQ skills and proudly claimed victory each time. Dennis learned how to ride a motorcycle from his Step-father Roosevelt. Riding his motorcycle symbolized his free-spirited nature and passion for adventure.
Dennis is preceded in death by his grandparents, Catherine E. and Oliver P. Ray, Sr., Baker and Mary Francis Richardson, his step-father, Roosevelt Slay, and bonus brother, Darrel.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter Deja Rose Ross, son Dennis Dewayne III, mother Kristine Maria Wade (Eric), father Dennis Dewayne Ross Sr. (Linda), brother David Oliver Ross Sr. (Jennifer), sister Sarah Agatha Welborn, bonus brothers Timothy and Isaiah, nephew and godson, David Oliver Ross Jr., nieces and nephews Tishana, Ethan, Isaiah, Olivia, Noah and Sophia, Aunt Peggy Futrell and a host of family and friends.
