Darrell Maurice Cannon was born on August 11, 1963 in Cleveland, Ohio to his parents, Lillian Burks and Eddie Cannon, Sr. Darrell was the sixth child born in the family and was raised with his siblings, Eddie Jr., Johnny, Mark, Debra, Vanessa, Renee and Anita.
Growing up, Darrell was educated through Fort Wayne Public Schools. After moving to Colorado, he attended and later graduated from Aurora Central High School in 1981. Following high school, Darrell enlisted in the United States Army, with determination to serve his country. While in the service, Darrell was stationed in Fort Polk, Louisiana. He was later honorably discharged from the Army in 1983.
Darrell was blessed to have twin daughters, Lillian and Lisa, who brought much joy to his life. He gained additional happiness with the birth of his 5 grandchildren. To them, he was affectionately known as “Cat Daddy”.
By profession, Darrell worked in the construction field as a Painter, through the experience that he gained, he also learned other trades.
Darrell was a spiritual man who valued his relationship with Christ. While living in Fort Wayne, Indiana he was a devout member of Oakridge Temple COGIC.
Those that knew Darrell best describe him as being honest, loyal and loving. He took his time with people and embraced life to its fullest. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know this kind man.
Darrell passed away on April 28, 2023 in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Lillian and Lisa; 5 grandchildren; 6 stepchildren; 22 nieces and nephews, and 29 great nieces and nephews.
