Darlene Marie Howard - Hale

Darlene Marie Howard-Hale was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on January 30, 1975, to the late Wilson J. Howard and Geraldine Veronica Guichard Howard. Darlene was the youngest of four children. Darlene peacefully transitioned into God’s loving arms on July 23, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Darlene graduated St. David Catholic School, attended McDonogh 35 and graduated Alfred Lawless High School. Darlene is also a veteran of the United States Air Force. Darlene later went on to graduate from Concord Nursing school where she received her Registered Nurse degree. She devoted her gifts to geriatric nursing where she was an illuminating and stellar leader in her endeavors. Darlene (affectionately known as Mikey), loved all things sweet as she had a sweet tooth. Darlene enjoyed listening to music, writing, reading, catching bugs outside in the backyard with her favorite babies Kameron, Kari, and Jaxon, decorating, gardening, gift-giving, and spending time with family. Darlene also enjoyed talking on the phone and going shopping with her best friends Sharrie Tresvant and Anthony Grimes. Darlene loved getting her hair braided by her stylist Roshawndra (Bunny). Darlene was the family’s prayer-warrior. Darlene posted every single day in the house on a white board a motivational prayer for every day of the week. Darlene had an ingenious sense of humor and kindred spirit. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents Wilson J. Howard and Geraldine Veronica Guichard Poche Howard, beloved aunt: Carolyn Depenis, brothers Barry J. Poche and Reverend Dr. Clarence Neason (late Reverend Dr. Althea Neason), sister: Thelma Howard Jones, and nephew Ramon Kelly. Darlene leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter and her grandpup: Sametra M. Woods and Oakley Woods, sister: Cynthia A. Poche, brother: Jeffery J. Poche, uncles: Theodore A. Guichard Jr. (Jade), Vincent P. Guichard, and Andre L. Guichard, aunt: Bernadine Guichard Luke (Steven Sr.) nieces: Keaun Neason (Troy), Johari Neason (Kelvin), Ashli Dupuy (Donald), Ellen Bienemy, Odile Campbell (Eric), cousins: Margie Depenis Morrow , Stephany V. Luke Andrews (Daniel), and Steven Luke Jr. (affectionally known as Tweety Bird and Darlene’s childhood partner in crime). There are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends that are also left to cherish her memory
