Danny Leroy Hamilton was born on September 7, 1957, in Kingston, Jamaica to his parents, Albertha Robinson and Joslyn Hamilton. He was raised with this siblings, Joslyn, Seymour, Dale, Delroy, Delesa, Sandra, Yvette, Hope, Janice, Barbara, Tanya, Beverly and Caven. As a child, his days began with the crow of the roaster at sunrise and the smell of breakfast cooking over a coal stove. Barefoot and carefree, he would run through the yard with friends, turning ordinary days into adventures. He learned early the value of hard work. Before school, there were chores to do such as feeding animals and carrying water. Some of his fondest memories included climbing mango trees, swimming in the river, and playing marbles until the sun began to set. Evenings were often spent siting on the veranda listening to stories told by grandparents. Danny’s reflection on these early days in Jamaica are a reminder of where he came from, the people who helped raise him and the humble beginning that made him who he was.

Danny received his education at Bowden Hill All Age School, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to both personal and professional development. He devoted his career as an auto mechanic as well as providing custodial care at Children's Hospital. He always performed his duties with a spirit of excellence. His co-workers enjoyed working with him, he lit up any room he walked in. Most notably he made his distinct presence felt by singing and dancing while working.

Known for his outgoing and talkative nature, Danny could have a conversation with anybody. In his free time, he enjoyed working on cars, playing cards, and dominoes. He always made the best of time he spent with family. A source of pride and joy in his life was the birth of his children, Durval, Rayon, Richard, Kamar, Danielle, Akheim, Lemar, Brittany and Gabrielle. He gained an additional source of pride and joy with the birth of his grandchildren, Naomi, Liam, Amelia, Denval, Devari, Kelise, Demaya, Zayne, Brasi and Darius.

The heartfelt memories shared by his children emphasize Danny’s commitment to family. To the, he was affectionately known as Chefet or Coco. He ensured that each child and grandchild was cared for and supported, always placing his family first.

Danny is survived by his mother Albertha, 9 children, 10 grandchildren, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends who will remember him fondly and celebrate his legacy.

Danny Leroy Hamilton’s life stands as a testament to the power of dedication, love, and the joy found in everyday moments. He will be remembered with great respect and admiration.
