Curtis Raymond McGaughy, known for his skilled hands and warm heart, was born on October 23, 1961, in Saint Joseph, Missouri, to, Thomas L. McGaughy and Ceola M. McGaughy. Curtis was the 2nd born in the family.
In his younger years, Curtis attended George Washington High School and excelled not only academically but also in fixing anything that came his way. His passion for helping others extended beyond his work as he played little league football and always had a wide smile that brightened any room.
Curtis’s life was truly blessed when he met Cheryl Walton and they both were blessed with Curtis James (CJ) McGaughy, whom was his world and homeboy. He would always say “What’s up “Son”.
Later ln life Curtis met and married Patricia Patterson in March 24, 2012 and they enjoyed raising three additional children whom he called his own.
Throughout his life, Curtis showcased a rare gift of repairing anything that was broken, earning him the reputation of being someone who could always be counted on for a solution. Whether it was a leaky faucet or a broken appliance, Curtis could always be counted on to make it right.
He was a man of many talents, and his proudest accomplishments included his craftsmanship and intelligence. Curtis' dedication to his craft was admirable, and he took great pride in being able to solve any problem that crossed his path.
Curtis's infectious personality made him the life of the party wherever he went. His memories will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His family and friends will forever remember his big "Koolaid" smile and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Curtis passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2024. To know Curtis was to love Him.
Curtis is survived by his, wife Patricia "Grace" McGaughy., son, Curtis “CJ” McGaughy., grandchildren., Ava, Avery, Tre’Veon, Quinton, Ta’Mani, Sa’Marah, Keva, Zahara, Louelle, Miranda., Kassius., mother Ceola M. McGaughy., daughters, Jalessa Patterson and Summer Patterson., brothers Christopher "Chris" M McGaughy and Kenton "Kenny" McGaughy, sister Jeanette "Missy" M. McGaughy along with a host of other relatives and many friends.
Curtis Raymond McGaughy may have left this world physically, but his legacy of kindness and craftsmanship will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
