Bryon Philip Walker

June 6, 1962 — November 27, 2021

Bryon Philip Cortez Walker, better known as “Phil,” was born on June 6, 1962 in Nowata, Oklahoma. He was the seventh child of Willie H. and Viola W. Walker.

Phil attended public schools in Nowata, Oklahoma and graduated in 1980 from Nowata High School. After graduating, Phil set off on many different adventures. He lived in Los Angeles, California for a short while, then moved to San Antonio, Texas where he resided for a number of years. In 2001, he moved to Colorado Springs, CO.

By trade, Phil was an Aircraft Parts Painter at Raytheon Technologies Corp., which required a certain amount of skill that he was proud of.

Phil absolutely loved to travel; he took a trip every year. Kauai Hawaii was his favorite place to be! He also loved sports; especially football. He was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and he loved the Oklahoma Sooners, O. U.!!!! He did a little golfing from time to time and he loved freshwater fishing with his brother-in-law, Troy, down in Texas.

In 1991, Phil was blessed with a son, Bryce, of whom he was quite proud.

In July 2020, he met and fell head over heels in love with Ms. Wendy Henderson in Denver, CO. They were married on January 25, 2021. Although their time together was short, they thoroughly enjoyed each other. Phil often told her, “I knew you were the one from the very first week I met you!”

Phil had an awesome sense of humor. He loved to laugh and make others laugh! He had a smile that was infectious!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Viola Walker, his sister, Sherry Walker and two brothers, Michael and Robert Walker.

Phil passed away on November 27, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Wendy Joy Walker, his son, Bryce Duane Walker, three sisters, Deborah (Troy) Vaughn, Karen (Clarence) Matthews and Ireatha (Guy) Ford. He also leaves one brother, Ivan Walker and his devoted friends, Darrell Gibson and Donald Wonders. He leaves a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.
