Brian Keith Cooley, born on April 30, 1964, in Denver, Colorado, journeyed through life with a heart full of joy and an infectious smile that touched everyone he met.

Raised by his loving parents, Gloria H. Kennard and the late Willie Cooley, Brian shared his childhood with a vibrant network of siblings: Ernest, Darrell, Bruce, Alex (Tiffany), Frank, Anthony, Calvin, Evangelist Pam (Pastor Richard) Lewis, and Carol Yvette Adams. From playful days hosting impromptu talent shows—where he was known for his enthusiastic, if off-key, singing—to curious interrogations of his mother's suitors, Brian’s early years brimmed with warmth and laughter.

An alumnus of George Washington High School and Greely College, Brian pursued a career in HVAC, earning a certificate and leaving his mark both as an employee and a self-employed technician. His professional diligence was mirrored in his personal life through his steadfast faith journey. Baptized at New Hope Baptist Church and later a devoted member of House of Hope Christian Ministries, Brian served with dedication in the security and Usher ministry, always eager to bring others into the fold.

Brian met and married his school sweetheart, Shelly, in Denver. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Angela. His life journey was enriched further alongside his beloved Tammy, with whom he had a son, Desean. Family was Brian’s anchor, and he relished time spent with his children, nephews, and close-knit circle of brothers, his best friends.

Brian’s community involvement and family ties reflected the values that carried him through life. Known affectionately as “Cooley” or whimsically as “Lying Brian” among siblings, his vibrant spirit and steadfast friendships left an indelible legacy. Though he strayed from his church path at times, he returned with renewed vigor, inspiring others with his faithfulness.

On July 28, 2026, Brian passed away, leaving behind a tapestry of treasured memories with his children, Angela and Desean, his mother Gloria, his devoted siblings, his Aunt Debra Sorrells, Uncle Deacon Charles Tolbert, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends committed to carrying his light forward.

His life will be best remembered by his radiant smile and the warmth he shared with those fortunate to know him. In the spirit of Psalm 121, may we find solace and strength in the memories of a life so beautifully lived.
