Annie Marie
Williams
Mar 27, 1944 — Aug 26, 2026
Annie Marie Williams
March 27, 1944 – August 26, 2026
Annie Marie Williams was born on March 27, 1944, in Waxahachie, Texas, to Earnest Hargers and Estella Porter. She was the fifth child born to this union and was raised alongside her seven brothers and seven sisters. Annie departed this life on August 26, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, hard work, and love.
Annie was a quiet and shy woman whose gentle spirit was matched by an inner strength and deep love for her family.
In 1968, Annie married the love of her life, James Howard Williams Sr. Together, they built a beautiful life and family. From this union came eight children—seven sons and one daughter. Annie was a devoted mother and a great protector of her children. She made sure her children were loved, cared for, and kept in check. Her family was her pride and joy, and she dedicated herself to providing for and guiding them throughout their lives.
Annie was truly a God-fearing woman, and her faith was an important part of her life. She was a devoted member of Spottswood AME Zion Church for more than 10 years, where she faithfully served as a Deaconess. Her love for God and commitment to her church were reflected in the way she lived and cared for others.
Annie was a hardworking woman who took great pride in her career. She worked in Environmental Services, dedicating 18 years of service to St. Joseph's Hospital and another nine years at Aurora Medical Center. Her strong work ethic and determination were a testament to the woman she was—dependable, committed, and never afraid of hard work.
Outside of work and church, Annie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved crocheting, cooking, dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed playing with her grandkids and watching some of her favorite television shows, including The Andy Griffith Show and Gunsmoke. Annie loved to dance and enjoyed life, creating countless treasured memories with those she loved.
Annie was blessed with 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Granny.” Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and the love she gave them will remain a part of their lives for generations to come.
Annie Marie Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest Hargers and Estella Porter; four brothers, L.C. Billy Hargers, Larry Hargers, Bobby Ray Hargers, and Robert Lee Hargers Sr.; four sisters, Mattie Mae Griffin, Bernice Griffin, Rosetta Haynes Pleasant, and Allie Mae McNeil; and her grandsons, Dominick Runquist and Stevie Larice Falkquay Jr.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted husband, James Howard Williams Sr.; her daughter, Joann Williams-Cobb; her sons, Stevie (Sue Jones) Larice Falkquay, Michael Anthony Hargers, Randolph Hargers, James Howard Williams Jr., Dennis Howard Williams, Leon Williams, and Nathaniel (Sherifa Padilla) Williams; her sisters, Helen Livingston, Birdia Johnson, Dorothy Jean Hargers, and Earnestine McClendon; her brothers, Eugene Hargers and Curtis Hargers; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Annie's life was a testament to faith, family, hard work, strength, and love. She protected her children, served her church, worked diligently, loved her grandchildren, and knew how to enjoy the blessings of life. Though her quiet presence will be deeply missed, the love she poured into her family will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
Her family will forever cherish the memories of her laughter, her cooking, her crocheting, her love of dancing, her favorite television shows, and most of all, the love and protection she gave so freely.
Rest well, Granny. Your work here is done, but your love and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
