Precious Memories

Annie Baldwin

Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved ones gone; those we love can never be more than a thought apart;

for as long as there is memory, theyll live on in the heart.

Annie Maude Baldwin was born on May 22, 1949, in Dallas, Texas to her parents, Willie Gene Sutton and Essie L. Miller Sutton.  She was the first born in the family.  She was raised surrounded by the love of her brothers, Billy Ray, Willie Gene, Jr., and her sisters, Faye Etta, Patricia Ann, and Vickey Renee.  She received her early education in Amarillo, Texas, where she attended Carver High School.  She later earned her GED from Emily Griffith in Denver, Colorado.  Annie furthered her education by completing courses in Data Entry.

On April 27, 1965, Annie married, Bobby Joe Baldwin in Amarillo, Texas.  The two shared a marriage full of unconditional love and respect.  To this union, Glenda Faye, Stephanie Evette, Bobby Joe, Jr., and LeKindra Chivette were born.  She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who took great pride in the care and nurture of her family.  She was later blessed with seven grandchildren Ashanti, Darian, Devaughn, Aaron, Tamiah, Tairae, and Jermaine.  They lovingly called her NaNa and Granny” and fondly remember all the happy and precious moments they shared together. She loved attending graduations, athletic activities, and all awards ceremonies.

By profession, Annie was employed by both Cotter Company and True Value working in shipping and receiving.   She was hard-working, dedicated, and performed her duties with a spirit of excellence.

A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Annie had been a faithful and dedicated member of New Nations Church.  She served her church and the Lord as a member of the Praise Team.  She had a golden voice that sang the melodies like that of and angel. She also worked with the Hospitality Ministry in the church. At the time of her passing, she had been a member for over twenty years.

Annie was a fun-loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled.  In her free time, she enjoyed fishing, shopping, and of course singing.   Her closest friend, Pat Roby will miss her kindness, love, and support.  She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman.  To know Annie was to love her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Essie Sutton, and her grandmother, Mattie Barnes.

Annie Maude Baldwin departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on February 1, 2024, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her beloved husband, Bobby J. Baldwin, Sr.; 1 son, Bobby J. (Kasondra) Baldwin, Jr.; 3 daughters, Glenda F. (Douglas) Hockaday, Stephanie E. Baldwin, and LeKindra C. (Anthony) Flerry; 2 brothers, Billy R. Sutton, and Willie G.
