In the quiet morning hours on December 3, 2022, Albert B. Pate Jr, answered the Master's call and peacefully took his earthly leave.
The son of the late Claretha B and Albert B. Pate Sr. He was born in Memphis Tennessee on April 14, 1948.
Albert started his education in Memphis at the now historic Melrose High School in the Orange Mound neighborhood. Then it was Melrose Primary School. In 1959, his father moved the family to Denver Colorado, where Albert attended Harrington Elementary, Smiley Junior High School and graduated from Denver East High School. In high school he played the Alto Saxophone in the marching band.
After high school Albert served in the armed forces. He was an Army soldier. During his time in the Army he was sent to serve a tour in Viet Nam.
After coming to Denver the family first joined St Stephen’s Baptist Church, under leadership of late Rev. C. A. Miller. Then moved their membership to Zion Baptist Church under leadership of the late Rev. W. T. Logging. As a young man at Zion Albert was a member of several youth Auxiliary groups including the youth choir and young adult ministry.
Albert was a man of many talents; artist, tailor and auto mechanic.
Albert is survived by his wife Janine, whom he called “HIS BABY, HIS ANGEL”. He leaves no children behind to cherish his memory. However, his brothers, Alvin (Pearl) Maultsby, Inverness FL; Earl Pate, Baltimore MD; Bryan Pate, Denver CO; his sister Ellena (Terry) Hayes, Leland NC. a large host of nieces, and nephews and their children along with other extended relatives and friends will remember him.
