Obituary

Aisha's life was one of strength, love, and determination. From the very beginning, she beat all odds, and she carried that fighting spirit with her every single day. She attained a level of independence that no one could have predicted, showing the world that determination knows no limits. Simply put, Aisha was unforgettable.

More than anything, Aisha loved her family. She found her greatest joy in being surrounded by the people she cared about most, and those moments meant everything to tier. She also had a deep love for traveling, finding the sun, laughing, and making beautiful memories.

She graduated from Gateway High School in May of 2001 at the age of 21—a milestone that reflected her perseverance and determination. Aisha did things in her own time and in her own way, and that was part of what made her so special.

Aisha never took “no” for an answer. She was strong-willed, resilient, and full of heart. If she set her mind to something, she found a way through. That strength inspired everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her loving parents, Nathan and Florine Cochran; her two brothers, Tuhru Derden (Crystal) and Nathan Cochran, Jr. (Letricia); sister, Natasha Cochran; nephews, Kayin and Ikem Derden; and niece, Olivia Cochran; aunts, Dorothy Taylor, Doris Saddler, Barbara Epps, Jeannette Ellison, and Mary Rollins (Brian); uncles, Willie Simpson, Dennis Simpson, Dewitt Doss and George Doss. And a host of family and friends who will miss her deeply and carry her memory with them always.

Aisha will be remembered for her strength, her love, her independence. She is unforgettable, and her spirit will live on in all who were lucky enough to know her.
