In Loving Memory of Acqua Netta Prince

May 12, 1969 – July 19, 2026

With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we celebrate the life of Acqua Netta Prince, who peacefully departed this life on July 19, 2026, at the age of 57. Born on May 12, 1969, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Acqua was the beloved daughter of Maple Stevenson and Bernard Daniel. She later moved to Denver, Colorado, where she was lovingly raised by her mother, Maple Stevenson, and father, Herman Gene Stevenson.

Acqua graduated from Montbello High School in 1988 and continued her education at Aurora Community College. She began her career at Children’s Hospital Denver before discovering her true calling as a collections agent, where she found fulfillment in helping people through difficult financial times. Her caring heart extended beyond her career, as she devoted herself to caring for her mother in her later years with love, patience, and compassion.

To those who knew and loved her, Acqua was a devoted family member, loyal friend, and a constant source of love, laughter, and encouragement. She treasured her family above all else and shared a special bond with the cousins she loved dearly. Her nephews—and especially her great-nephews—meant the world to her, and she never missed an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments or remind them how proud she was of them.

Acqua found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved music, especially New Edition, with “Can You Stand the Rain?” holding a special place in her heart. One of her favorite stories to tell was about seeing Michael Jackson perform live in concert—an unforgettable experience that always brought a smile to her face. She also found great joy in bringing her family together around the table. Her homemade banana pudding and sweet potato pie became family favorites, and her nephews looked forward to every bite. Purple was her favorite color, and she often reminisced about cherished family trips, especially a memorable vacation to New York. Whether watching her favorite television shows, listening to the music of the 1980s and 1990s, preparing a meal for those she loved, or simply spending time with family and friends, Acqua embraced every moment with gratitude, love, and joy.

Acqua was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Maple Jean Stevenson; her father, Herman Gene Stevenson; her only brother, Donald Ray Stevenson; her beloved son, Nicholas; and her nephew Dontae Chambers.

She is lovingly survived by her devoted nephews, Donald Stevenson (Amber), Julian Burdette (Dina), and Brendon Burdette; her cherished great-nephews, Skyler Stevenson and Nehemiah Stevenson; her dear aunt, Charles Etta Prince; her uncles, Marvin Prince, Junior Prince, and Connie Stevenson; her loving cousins, Alonzo Prince, Rayanna Prince, and Quentin Prince; and her lifelong friends, Monique Bowler, Janet Williams, and Craig Black. Each held a special place in Acqua’s heart, and she treasured the love, laughter, and memories they shared throughout her life.

Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her love, kindness, unwavering strength, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.

Her family will forever cherish her memory, her warm smile, her compassionate heart, and the countless moments she shared with those she loved. They will also remember one of the qualities that made Acqua so uniquely herself—she never shied away from the truth and was never afraid to speak her mind. Whether you wanted to hear it or not, you could always count on Acqua to tell it like it was. Her honesty, quick wit, and authenticity brought laughter, wisdom, and unforgettable moments that those who knew and loved her will cherish forever.

While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life well lived—a life defined by love, loyalty, strength, devotion to family, and the courage to always be herself.
