September 13, 1942 — June 18, 2016

SUSAN LOVING OBITUARY Susan Bates Loving was born September 23, 1942 in San Antonio, TX. She was the youngest of three children born to Walter Bates and Willie Beatrice Clark. Susan attended Phyllis Wheatley High School, San Antonio TX. As a child she loved to sing and made her singing debut in the 2nd grade, singing "Juanita" (a song no one has ever heard of ééé... ). She met and married her soul mate, William "Gene" Loving on August 17, 1962 in San Antonio, TX. To this union produced three children. They moved to Denver CO in 1963. They are both members of Macedonia Baptist Church in Denver, and she loved the Lord. They enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and "headin' to the hills". The love and emotion they shared was visible by all. She left great memories for her children. They remember her passion for cooking, she made the best spaghetti and fried chicken! She always called on your birthday and sang the Happy Birthday song in its entirety, as well as making sure birthday cards arrived on time. She was firm, yet fair and always had a very strong opinion about EVERYTHING and we do mean EVERYTHING! Susan had seven grandchildren that called her "Grandma". They remember some humorous things she would say to them such as, "let me pinch them hips" "how bout them Broncos" "well allllriiiigggghhhttt" "Imma send you a 'lil change". She gave the best advice, made them laugh, and gave great gifts. Susan was a sterile technician at University Hospital for many years. She was well known and liked by her co-workers, the nurses and doctors. She lovingly claimed the hospital as "my hospital" "my doctors" "my nurses". In her free time, she liked watching The Price is Right, growing and taking care of her plants, and collecting giraffe figurines. She was a sports fan and especially loved watching her Broncos play football as well as Serena and Venus play tennis. She was fond of hosting Bid Whist and domino parties, playing music, talking and laughing with her good friends, to include Barbara W, Scharlyne, Belinda and Val. Susan was a great friend, confidante and could make you feel invincible. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was called home to glory on June 18, 2016. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, husband, William Eugene Loving; 2 daughters Karen Y Brown (Patrick) and Saundra D Loving-Dixon; son Kenneth E Loving (Nickie); sister Emma J Bryant (William); sister-friend Scharlyne Hancock; 2 sister-in-laws Shirley Kinney and Erma Webster (Paul); brother-in-law Joseph N Loving (Doris); 7 grandchildren (Michael, Brittney, Darius, Patrice, Channel, Justin and Bailey) and 2 great-grandchildren (Jace and Nova); a host of relatives and friends.
